In the lead up to the 2007 NSW State election, numerous human services community sector organisations and lobby groups will be producing 'Election Kits' and other material that will be made available through this page. The kits not only help to inform the public about issues facing disadvantaged people in NSW today they also provide strategies on how to lobby political parties around these issues.

Please note: These proposals are not endorsed by NCOSS unless specifically stated or unless a forum of NCOSS (eg. Aged Care Alliance).

Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation (ANTaR)

It seems both the NSW Government and Opposition have refused to provide the much needed funds because these are Aboriginal children at risk and they think that not enough voters will care. With your help, ANTaR is hoping to show them they're wrong.

Despite recent increases to preschool funding in NSW, it is clear that we still do not have suffi cient resources to ensure the ongoing viability and affordability of community-based preschools. Youth Action and Policy Association (YAPA)

YAPA has released A Call to the Parties which outlines 20 priority youth and youth sector issues in NSWFeel free to use this information in and can be used by NGOs in their local campaign work.

Political parties are currently putting together a response to these, which will be distributed to YAPA members and networks.

Aged Care Alliance

The NSW Aged Care Alliance has developed this Issues Kit in order to raise the important State issues for older people as they relate to the upcoming State election.  The prioritised issues include a brief description of each issue with recommendations and questions for all candidates to New South Wales Parliament.  Older People and their organisations are encouraged to use any or all of the Issues Kit in their representations to candidates when discussing areas of concern for New South Wales’ older population.

ACOSS Australia Fair Campaign

Initiated by the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS), the peak council of the community and welfare sector, Australia Fair is supported bymany organisations providing services to well over 4 million Australians.
Every Kid Campaign

The Every Kid campaign is being run in the lead up to the NSW State election in March 2007. Key community agencies who have expertise in different areas of social policy have formed a coalition to prompt the State Government to address the issues of poverty and social exclusion faced by disadvantaged children, young people and families across NSW.
